Group Day Trip Details

Step back in time with us at Forest Home Cemetery & Arboretum, one of Milwaukee’s most historic landmarks steeped in German heritage. Inspired by the garden-style cemeteries of the Victorian era, Forest Home was designed as a peaceful retreat, complete with winding pathways, lush plantings, and striking monuments. On our docent-led tour, we’ll explore the rich art and symbolism hidden in the headstones—flowers, religious icons, mourning expressions, and monument styles that tell the stories of those at rest. Recognized as one of the Midwest’s premier “monumental cemeteries,” it’s a true outdoor museum.

After a hearty German-themed lunch, we’ll visit another Milwaukee treasure—St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Founded in 1838, this is the city’s oldest Episcopal congregation, housed since 1844 in its striking Richardsonian Romanesque building. You’ll be wowed by its Lake Superior sandstone exterior, intricate ironwork, and especially its breathtaking Tiffany-stained glass collection—the largest in Wisconsin! The centerpiece is a massive 30-by-24-foot Tiffany window depicting Gustave Doré’s Christ Leaving the Praetorium—an awe-inspiring sight.
